GRIND SESSION DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Jacy Abii’s Leadership and Two-Way Presence Set the Tone Throughout the Grind Session Season

Jacy Abii was one of the most impactful two-way players on the Grind Session circuit this season and proved to be the type of player every winning program needs. While her defensive presence consistently stood out, her overall impact extended far beyond that end of the floor.

Abii brought toughness, leadership, energy, and consistency every time she stepped on the court. Defensively, she disrupted passing lanes, guarded multiple positions, and competed with a relentless motor. Offensively, she showed the ability to finish, make plays within the offense, and provide stability for her team in key moments.

What separated Abii throughout the season was her leadership and willingness to do whatever was needed to help her team win. Her competitiveness, vocal presence, and two-way versatility made her one of the more valuable players evaluated by the UP staff this season.
