GUAA First Session 2022

Here are a few standouts from the first session of GUAA.

2023s

2023 6’2 G Cassandre Prosper (Become One Canada 17u) The big guard from Canada put on a show this weekend. An excellent athlete, she scores from all 3 levels & made plays for her teammates as well showing great court vision. Finishes well at the rim with either hand. Has the ability to take over a game on both ends. A high major talent, she is going to blow up this summer!

2023 6’2 G/F Ajok Madol (Become One Canada 17u) High energy & active on both ends of the floor. Complete scorer & very impressed with her finishing moves around the rim & in transition. Her speed, length, & athleticism allowed her to get many off-ball steals & loose balls. Always in attack mode. Can shoot both the mid-range & 3 ball.

2023 6’2 F Khamil Pierre (Arizona Elite 17u Black) Athletic & strong, she can dominate a game on both ends of the court. Excellent rebounder & shot blocker. Knocks down the mid-range consistently & is a force when attacking downhill. Finishes through contact, multiple and-1s. Loves to rebound & push coast to coast. Showed the ability to shoot from 3.

2023 5’5 G Kaylah Turner (FGB 17U GUAA) Lightning quick, athletic guard that uses her physicality & quick feet to terrorize opposing guards. The mid-range jumper is her sweet spot; she gets to her spot & elevates over defenders. Rebounds well for her size, uses her speed to push the tempo in transition. Showed the ability knock down the 3 & finish at the rim through contact.

2024s

2024 5’10 G Madison Davis (Example Sports 2024 GUAA) Scoring guard with excellent length. Scores the ball at all 3 levels, has a knack for putting the ball in the bucket. Sweet stroke from beyond the arc & a nice floater to finish in the paint. Has active hands defensively that allows her to get deflections & steals.

2024 6’2 F Breanna Williams (Northwest Blazers Grey 2024) Physical big that can post up from low & mid-post. Can go back to the basket & face up comfortably. Good footwork inside; utilizes spins & step throughs. Stretches slower bigs out to the perimeter & punishes smaller defenders inside. Rebounds the ball well & physical finisher with both hands.

2024 5’11 G Jordan Zubich (Minnesota Fury 2024 UAA) Lights out shooter with deep range & a quick release. Consistently knocked down shots from well beyond the arc & showed a nice handle. Has good length & uses it defensively to get deflections & contest shots. Very high level shooter & high IQ decision maker.

2024 6’2 G/F Ariana Williams (Example Sports 2024 GUAA) Extremely long, athletic guard. Runs very well & handles well at her size. Scores from all 3 levels & has nice court vision. Anticipates passing lanes & uses her long arms & leaping ability to get deflections & steals. Quick enough to guard much smaller, shifty guards. A kid to watch as she continues to advance her skill set.

2025s

2025 5’5 G Sania Richardson (BTR 17u) One of the most impressive guards this weekend regardless of class, she showed tremendous patience & poise with the ball in her hands. Great at shifting gears to keep defenders off balance, 3 level scorer, has a knack for making big shots. Knocked down jump shots from all over & showed the ability to finish in the paint both at the rim & via a soft floater.

2026s

2026 5’9 G Mya Alston (BTR 15u) Long guard who moves well for her age at her height. Pretty jump shot from both the mid-range & 3. Showed the ability to put it on the floor & finish at the rim. Has good instincts on defense, getting on ball deflections & playing passing lanes defensively.
